To Paint An Angel- Chapter 1Cars moved in an invariable rhythm on the streets below me, creating a strange almost melodic hum in the darkness. Flicking the glowing ash that had settled at the end of my cigarette, I put it back to my lips and inhaled deeply. I stretched out on my back near the edge of the roof of the apartment building and growled softly deep in my throat. Staring up at the sky, I smirked as I exhaled, watching the smoke spiral upwards and wrap around the stars as I counted them.
Gravel from the building’s roof dug into my back through the leather of my jacket and made my wings itch beneath the skin. The itching soon grew quite maddenin To Paint An Angel- Chapter 1
